National Park Ambassadors

They maintain habitats, educate visitors, and preserve history. They're rangers, museum curators, engineers, volunteers, landscape architects, and fire fighters. They're the treasured stewards of our national parks. They're National Park Ambassadors.

Behind every national park is a team of ordinary people who are dedicated to maintaining the extraordinary. They may not wear capes, but they're heroes in our book. Meet the individuals who protect our parks and send thanks to an NPS employee or volunteer who made your last visit extra special.

Thank you, A park ranger. You people are amazing, you do amazing things with the parks and most people just accept it like they are entitled to it. I know it’s your job and you get paid for it BUT you need to get something out of it because you do so much more than the minimum. Everything always looks so nice like there is a party going on and you just got it looking great for the heck of it. But it shows the dedication you give it every day because it shows more than 100% always. I am in a wheelchair and can’t appreciate all that you do but I know from the part that I see that it is wonderful. Thank you so much for the work you do because even if you’re not told everything is great it is and it is appreciated by all. Thank you.

Thank you, Entire staff. My wife Lindsey and my 3 year old son Oliver visited in August during a medical emergency in the campground. We had driven to the park in our RV. We have prayed since that day that the little boy who was taken to the hospital in a helicopter survived and is well today. Thank you all for your professionalism and dedication to helping that family. It is a comfort to know good folks like you all are looking out for visitors like us, on top of all your other priorities, namely preserving the remnants of an amazing culture who once lived and gathered there. We learned SO much from our visit and gained a much better understanding of how the Chaco and other related people lived and thrived in that part of the country. We are still fascinated by the ancient stairways and roads. Roman civilization doesn’t even compare in our opinion. We look forward to more trips to learn more about how well in touch with their surroundings these great people were and are today. Thank you so much for maintaining the park and being stewards for what we all only experience briefly in this life.
