Behind every national park is a team of ordinary people who are dedicated to maintaining the extraordinary. They may not wear capes, but they're heroes in our book. Meet the individuals who protect our parks and send thanks to an NPS employee or volunteer who made your last visit extra special.

National Park Ambassadors
They maintain habitats, educate visitors, and preserve history. They're rangers, museum curators, engineers, volunteers, landscape architects, and fire fighters. They're the treasured stewards of our national parks. They're National Park Ambassadors.

Thank you, Everyone at Gateway National Recreation Area.I appreciate all the work that the Park Service and it's ambassadors do to maintain the Sandy Hook area. It's used by many people from NJ and NY, and it's one of my favorite places to visit. I hope the efforts of the Park Service to maintain and repair the buildings in the Fort Hancock continues. Thank you for all that you do!

Thank you, Park Service Members. We visited Yellowstone and Grand Teton for the first time during the first week of October - just fabulous! And every Park team member we encountered was helpful and friendly. The staff at every venue was wonderful. Everyone was anticipating the parks' transitions to winter schedules. We've visited many of our National Parks, all around the country, including Alaska and Hawaii, and never had an experience that wasn't breathaking and beyond our expectations. Thank you all so much for providing those experiences!

Thank you, Jason Corder. You know I’ve told you that our folks taught us to leave the park as we found it. They convinced us that if we took a rock out of the stream, a park ranger would know. We thought the rangers were behind a tree somewhere. Thanks for guarding the rocks.
