Behind every national park is a team of ordinary people who are dedicated to maintaining the extraordinary. They may not wear capes, but they're heroes in our book. Meet the individuals who protect our parks and send thanks to an NPS employee or volunteer who made your last visit extra special.

National Park Ambassadors
They maintain habitats, educate visitors, and preserve history. They're rangers, museum curators, engineers, volunteers, landscape architects, and fire fighters. They're the treasured stewards of our national parks. They're National Park Ambassadors.

Thank you, All Park Rangers and Staff.Thank you for all you do to help preserve and protect our park. The Big Cypress National Preserve is such an important part of Florida’s history and it’s vital habitat to more than 100 threatened and endangered species, including plants and animals found nowhere else on earth. With your help, this beautiful part of Florida can continue to be preserved. Not only do I thank you, but so do all the creatures and plants that call the preserve home.

Thank you, Mr. Park Ranger.I drove across the Country w/ my sister, the summer of 1974. We stopped at Yellowstone for the geyser! Stayed in the Grand Teton's rustic cabin. It was great! In my opinion, all in America need to visit a National Park. (or two!)

Thank you, Kate Staton .Thanks Kate for choosing a path to make the world a better place! I know how hard you worked this summer on trail crew at crater to make it a safer and more accessible space for guests. I loved seeing you interact with guests to share your incredible knowledge about the park and passion for what you do. I am proud of you for choosing to winter over to serve and protect those who want to access the backcountry in the snowy winter conditions. Now more than ever, our national parks need young adults like you who choose to dedicate their careers and lives to protecting these beautiful and endangered places.
Stay hydrated even when it’s freezing outside, wear warm dry socks, make good choices and call your mom!

Thank you, Everyone.Thank you all for being such great role models for my four nature-loving kids. My oldest is very passionate about the environment and is working on her post-high school plans to pursue a career in a related field. This all stems directly from her personal experience and interactions with people like you. Thank you!
